LACONIA, N.H. (AP) – A New Hampshire company that makes components for computers and consumer electronics is laying off another 90 people.
Aavid Thermalloy had laid off about 30 people at its Laconia plant earlier this year. The Citizen reports that company vice president Norm Soucy says the next round of reductions is coming from the company’s Concord and Laconia offices.
Company officials met on Tuesday with representatives from the state and the cities of Laconia and Concord to inform them of the layoffs, Soucy said, adding that Aavid was also working with the New Hampshire Workforce Opportunity Council to assist the displaced employees.
Soucy confirmed the company is still looking to sell or lease its nearly 200,000 square-foot building and to move to a new space somewhere between Laconia and Concord.
