Sen. Justin Alfond of Portland has sponsored a bill, LD 1195, that would make it legal for municipalities to decide whether to allow noncitizens to vote in their elections. He thinks that because they have children in the schools and pay taxes they ought to have that right.
What is that guy thinking? That is liberalism-out-of-control-101. We should allow illegals free schooling, health care, our Social Security, legal representation, college preference or tuition and now the right to vote? It would be one thing if this were to pertain to immigrants on track for citizenship, but that would include illegals of all types to include drug gangs from Mexico and terrorists from al-Qaida.
