CASTINE (AP) – Maine Maritime Academy has cut 13 administrative support positions because of reductions in state aid.

Academy President Leonard Tyler says the cuts are necessary because the state cut aid to the school by about $476,000 this year.

Four of the 13 positions were vacant.

Tyler tells WABI the college also expects to increase tuition by 5 percent next year.
