STANDISH (AP) – Police investigators combed through a home Sunday trying to determine how a woman sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and her husband suffered beating-style head injuries.

Maine Public Safety Department spokesman Stephen McCausland said deputies and detectives from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Maine state police hoped to talk to both of the injured further when their medical conditions stabilized.

The victims were identified as Linda Dolloff, 47, and Jeffrey Dolloff, 53.

McCausland said Cumberland County deputies went to the home after the woman called 911 around 3 a.m. Sunday.

McCausland said the woman came outside and the man was found inside in a bedroom.
