HARRISON – The Western Maine Fish and Game Club will sponsor a hunter safety course Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the Harrison fire station. Students must attend both days to receive the certification. Students must be at least 10 years old, and those 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students attending the class under the age of 18 must have a parent sign the card Saturday morning. Students are asked not to bring any weapons or live ammunition to the classes. Class size will be limited to 40 students on a first-come, first-served basis. A $3 donation will be required per student. For more information call Arlin at 583-4535 or Jody at 595-2211.

Lisbon opening day

LISBON – Lisbon Junior Athletic League plans its fourth-annual baseball and softball opening day Saturday, May 16. The day begins with a parade at 10 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. and games and contests at 11:15 a.m. Events other than baseball and softball include dollar games for the kids, with a guaranteed winner in every game, an inflatable obstacle course, bounce house, dunk tank, face painting, concession stands, and raffles and contests.

Lifeguard course

AUBURN -The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is offering a Lifeguard Certification Course to be held on the following dates: April 20, 22, 27, 28, 30; May 4, 5, 7, 11 and 12. Combined classroom and pool time run about 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. each sessions.
