LEWISTON – A week after police said she may have fallen down a set of stairs at her boyfriend’s house a Rangeley woman died at Central Maine Medical Center Monday.
Caroline Mulholland, 50, had been listed in critical condition with head injuries after an April 5 fall at the 12 Grand View Ave. home in Rangeley of Wayne C. Seaman, 50.
State police investigators were at Seaman’s house the night of the fall and the day after trying to determine what went on, Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, has said.
McCausland previously said that if Mulholland died, the body would be sent to the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
Seaman, who police say was Mulholland’s boyfriend, was arrested April 6 after he interfered with police officers trying to investigate her injuries, McCausland said.
Seaman got into a scuffle with police and was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault and refusing to submit to arrest, McCausland said.
Seaman was released from the Franklin County jail in Farmington on $3,000 unsecured bail April 6, court documents show.
It remains unclear whether Seaman will face any additional charges.
