Universal health care coverage is a necessity for this year. President Barack Obama is correct in trying to reduce the escalating costs of health care coverage by urging Congress to get the job done.
I urge Sens. Snowe and Collins to provide my family, and all the citizens of Maine, with universal, preventative health care coverage. We need a health care option such as Medicare for all Americans. Senators do not have a private health insurance plan, but a government-supported, thorough health coverage plan.
I do not want to continue with the private insurance company; they are principally out to make money. I want the same coverage as the two senators.
Americans deserve a choice. Let people choose between the private health care plan or a public health care option (such as Medicare).
If the public option is good enough for my senators, then it is good enough for me and my family.
