AUBURN – A host of city social groups will band together April 25 to spend the day cleaning up the community.

Volunteers are invited to the Hasty Memorial Armory in Auburn’s Pettengill Park at 9:30 a.m. for the cleanup. They will be assigned areas to collect trash on city roadsides, in parks and along the Androscoggin River banks. Trash bags and safety vests will be provided. Other groups will focus on cleaning up graffiti.

The event is sponsored by the city’s Waste Management Advisory Committee working with L/A Trails, the Auburn Land Lab, the city firefighters’ union, police, the Recreation Department, schools, Great Falls TV, Keller Williams Realty and Key Bank.

A rain date is scheduled for April 26. For more information, contact Dom Casavant at 786-7238 or Ed Desgrosseilliers at 777-3125.
