FARMINGTON – Beginner and advanced GPS classes will be offered April 22 by host Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District.

The deadline for registrations is 1 p.m. Friday, said Rosetta Thompson of the conservation district.

The beginning class is planned for 8 a.m. and the advanced class at 1 p.m. at the University of Maine at Farmington. Participants do not need to have previous GPS experience for the beginner class. The cost of one class is $20 per person.

Patty Cormier of the Maine Forest Service will conduct the training. GPS units will be provided for the hands-on learning about how to overcome some common challenges in the field.
