BAR HARBOR, Maine (AP) — An Episcopal priest from Connecticut who fell 15 feet while hiking in Acadia National Park remains in critical condition after being airlifted to a Bangor hospital.

The Bangor Daily News says the Rev. Jeffrey Dugan of Farmington, Conn., was hiking along a path between Otter Cliffs and Otter Point when he fell to rocks below on Wednesday afternoon. Dugan was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center after a 40-minute rescue.

Parishioners at St. James Episcopal Church in Farmington, Conn., have been praying for their 55-year-old pastor’s recovery. Church administrator Lois Wack told the Hartford Courant that church members came together two years ago to pray for Dugan after he had a heart attack, and “the prayers did wonders.”
