Dear Sun Spots: I would like to know how come it is a rare occasion to find Diet Sierra Mist in 16-ounce or 24-ounce bottles at the Auburn Hannaford? This has been as ongoing issue. The manager informed me that the Pepsi driver stocks according to sales. Perhaps if they stocked these size bottles they would sell.

In one week I went to the store on Saturday, Wednesday and Friday to find not one six-pack. I am sure I am not the only person who drinks Diet Sierra Mist in the 24-ounce bottles. – No Name, Auburn.

Answer:
Sun Spots spoke with Mike Labbe, store manager at Hannaford on Spring Street in Auburn. He told us that the decisions on what are stocked on the shelves is made by the vendor and the category manager for that section of the store and also, as you stated, it is based on the movement and sales of a product. Unfortunately, they have limited space available. The category manager is located at Hannaford’s main office, not in the Auburn store.

Labbe noted that they’re happy to order whatever they can for their customers and he can special-order the Diet Sierra Mist for you to pick up at the store when you do your grocery shopping. Next time you are at the store, simply visit the customer service desk and request the item.
