LEWISTON – Bertha C. Bardier, 89, formerly of Meadowview Apartments, Lewiston, died on Thursday, April 16, at Marshwood Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Litchfield, on Aug. 11, 1919, the daughter of Francis and Helene (Aubut) Laberge. She married in 1942 to Albert J. Bardier, who passed away in July 1992. She worked at St. Mary’s General Hospital in the newborn nursery for more than 20 years.

She had a very close bond with her nieces, Constance Traynor, Jeanne Flynn and Constance Sirois, who were devoted to her loving care. She would say to them, “You are my medicine,” rewarding them with her beautiful smile. She loved her many nieces and nephews, always showing her interest in their lives. They, in turn, loved her great sense of humor and fun personality.

She enjoyed music (especially French), playing cards, attending concerts, local festivals and hockey games, and taking trips to the casino with her friends from Meadowview.

She was predeceased by her husband; her sisters, Loretta Gladu, Corinna and Jeanette Laberge; her brothers, Josephat, Sylva, George, Jeffrey and Leo Laberge; and her nephews, Richard and Darryl Laberge.

Special thanks to the staff of Marshwood Center and Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.
