AUBURN – Ronald A. White, 68, a resident of 4 Judson St., Mechanic Falls, died Thursday, April 16, at Androscoggin Hospice House with his family by his side following a long illness.

He was born in Gardiner on Oct. 30, 1940, the son of Leroy Francis and Florence Trentholm White.

Ron will always be remembered as a hard worker who took pride in his work not only at home but also as a welder all his life, having been employed at Diamond Machine and as a ship builder at Bath Iron Works.

In his retirement, he was employed in circulation at the Sun Journal.

Ron was a people person who loved his garden and his animals at home.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly White of Mechanic Falls, whom he married in 1988; two sons, Edward McNelly and his wife, Angela, of Oxford, and David D’Avignon of Gainsville, Fla.; two daughters, Allison White-Auger and her partner, Michael Haskell, of Auburn, and Gina D’Avignon and her partner, Rick Smith, of Auburn; five brothers, John White and his wife, Leslie, Theodore White and wife, Elaine, Francis White and his wife, Susan, Leroy Bosworth, and Richard White and his wife, Betty; four sisters, Cheryl White, Donna Knight, Dena Marie Galbreath and her husband, Earl, and Christine White; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by one son, Paul D’Avignon; and one brother, Edmond White.
