POLAND – George H. Doucet, 83, of Poland passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 16.
He was born in Victoriaville, Canada, on Feb. 1, 1926, the son of Joseph and Estelle Droin Doucet. He served in the Army in Canada in 1942. He became a naturalized citizen on Nov. 8, 1973. He had been employed at Bates Mill in Lewiston for many years. He belonged to Post 2 in Augusta.
He is survived by his daughter, Aline Girardin; his son, Ronald Doucet; four grandchildren, Elaine, Richard, Gabrielle and Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren, Maryssa, Alysha and Timeka; and a sister, Jacqueline Michaud.
He was predeceased by his wife, Georgette; and a brother, Paul Doucet.
