Bowls to be filled for Jubilee Center

AUBURN – Plans are under way for Trinity Jubilee Center’s fifth annual Empty Bowls Supper, to be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the First Universalist Church Pleasant Street.

Diners attending purchase bowls created by local artisans and students and receive a meal of soup, bread, beverage and dessert, all donated by local establishments.

Bowl creators for this year’s event include Cabin Pottery, Jody Dube, Edgecomb Pottery, Georgetown Pottery, Maxwell’s Pottery, The Potter’s House, Potters of Auburn Adult Education, Pottery by Celia, Gretchen Slover, Terri Wentzel and the Potters of Edward Little High School, and Jennifer Wood and the potters of St. Dom’s High School.

Soup will be provided by Chickadee of Lewiston, Chopstick’s, DaVinci’s, Gippers, Little Dan’s BBQ, Marco’s and the Lewiston Regional Technical Center Culinary Arts Green Ladle Restaurant; bread will be provided by Grants Bakery, Italian Bakery and Little Dan’s BBQ; and desserts will be provided by Governor’s Restaurant, Sam’s Catering and Subway Restaurants of Lewiston-Auburn.

Violinist Greg Boardman and his string students will provide background music for diners.

The Empty Bowls Supper will benefit Trinity Jubilee Center, a nonprofit soup kitchen and emergency food pantry dedicated to advocacy for those in need in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area. Bowl prices start at $10 (depending on bowl selected) and are available at the door.
