Blood drive

FARMINGTON – A community blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, sponsored by the Farmington Emblem Club 460.

Call Shannon Smith at 778-4726 or the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to make an appointment.

Donors will have a chance to win two Boston Red Sox tickets and to be honored on the field as “Blood Donor of the Year.” Visit www.newenglandblood.org for details.

Grange supper

JAY – A public supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the North Jay Grange 10. Menu will include baked beans, casseroles, salads, coleslaw, dessert and beverages. Students coming

RICHMOND – ASSE International Student Exchange is accepting applications from host families for the 2009-10 academic year. Student come from Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Students are screened, insured, speak English and come with their own spending money. They arrive from their home country shortly before school begins and return at the end of the school year.

Host families provide room, board and guidance. Each student expects to bear his or her share of the household responsibilities as well as be included in normal family activities.
