FARMINGTON – Scrappy arrived at the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a stray, and staff members wonder why no one would have come looking for him.
They said he is a happy dog that loves to play tug-of-war and fetch. He does know some basic commands, but does need some training. They said Scrappy learns quickly, and he is so eager to please that all he needs is a bit of encouragement to be trained.
Two donated walkie talkies have been a big help, staff said.
Von Woden Kennels has supplied the shelter with Bil Jac dog food and the kennel will donate some of the profit to the shelter for each bag sold. Those interested should call the shelter at 778-2638 or call the kennels at 491-4911.
New dogs at the shelter include a male beagle from Fairbanks and a male yellow lab from East Livermore.
