The Lewiston Middle School’s Parent Teacher Partnership Organization has a new look – a Virtual Parent Teacher Organization (V-PTO), created through a grant from the Lewiston Education Fund.

This means the meeting is available to anyone who logs on to www.lewistonpublicschools.org and clicks on the LMS VPTO icon on the right.

Each month a PowerPoint presentation featuring topics relevant to students and education will be offered on the site. Feedback from parents, educators and students is welcome and encouraged. Parents can view the PowerPoint at their convenience.

Reaching out to the families of the 700 hundred students who only spend two years in this school has been the challenge. Now, the V-PTO brings the meeting to the community.

The Parent Teacher Partnership Organization’s primary focus is to raise awareness of the issues, concerns and happenings at the middle school, so there is a connection between school and home and, now, an Internet connection.
