FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Firemen’s Association will hold a training seminar this weekend at a building on Wilton Road.
All aspects of fighting a building fire, including the initial attack and responding when the department is down on manpower, will be covered, said Lt. Timothy D. Hardy, fire inspector for Farmington Fire Rescue.
National instructors from New York City, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C., will give more advanced training based on their work in large, city departments, Hardy said.
Training begins at the station Saturday morning with firefighters from six area departments. At 1 p.m. they will train at a building between Farmington Ford and Irving’s.
The crews will return for an all-day session starting at 8 a.m. Sunday.
The site is used frequently for training by Forster Tech students, he said.
