FARMINGTON – Bernard “Bud” Thomas, 82, of Farmington passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, surrounded by his loving family and friends at Orchard Park Rehabilitation & Living Center.

He was born Sept. 5, 1926, the son of Gordon E. and Helen L. (Piper) Thomas. He was educated in the schools of Farmington. In 1953, he married Anita Berry in Mount Vernon. Bud was employed by Morton Motors for 18 years and then by the state of Maine for 22 years before retiring in 1988. He enjoyed camping, stock car racing, and was a devoted Red Sox fan. His primary focus and love was spending time with his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anita of Farmington; three daughters, Bonnie and Donald Oliver of Chesterville, Mary Lou and Cyrus Batcheldor of Avon and Donna and Steven Teuber of Cape Coral, Fla.; three sons, Roger Thomas and Betty of Chesterville, Bernie Thomas of Farmington and Barry Thomas of Farmington; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Eugene Thomas.
