GRAY (AP) – Record-high temperatures were recorded across Maine during the weekend as July-like weather filtered across the state.

The National Weather Service says Portland had a high temperature of 80 degrees on Sunday. The broke the previous high for the date of 76 degrees, set in 1985.

In northern Maine, Caribou reached 77 degrees on Saturday. According to the weather service, that broke the old record of 76 degrees that was reached in 1942.
