HOWLAND (AP) – Police are looking for a young man who held up the Bangor Savings Bank branch in Howland and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported in the robbery, which took place shortly after the bank opened for business Monday.

Stephen McCausland of the Maine Public Safety Department quoted the robber as saying he had a gun, but no weapon was shown. The robber then fled on foot.

State police say the robber was in his 20s, about 5-foot-9 and weighing 150 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt under a camouflage colored jacket.
