AUBURN – Collette P. Berube, 78, of 100 Campus Ave., and formerly 3 Treemount Drive, Lewiston, died Monday, April 27, at Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Alcide and Melina Nadeau Pelletier. She was educated in Lewiston schools and a graduate of Lewiston High School and and went on to graduate from Bliss Business College. She was married to Gilbert G. Berube on Sept. 12, 1959. He died March 3, 2008.

She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church, Ladies of St. Anne’s Society of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Les Marchandes de Bonheur, Cercle d’Youville, Association Canados Americaine, Maine Association of Retirees and an honorary member of the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She was employed for the city of Lewiston as deputy tax collector and retired as Lewiston Senior Citizen Coordinator in 1984. She enjoyed life and laughter with family and friends. She also enjoyed socializing and playing cards with her very dear friends at Maison Marcotte.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by Denise and Normand Brodeur, Doreen and Robert Gagnon, James and Kathleen Custeau, Linda and John Desrosiers, Denis Giard and Dawn Zemla, Michelle and Scot Draeger; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; parents; brothers, Albanie and John (Jean Baptiste) and Roland Pelletier; and sisters, Laurette Parent, Muriel Custeau and Anita Giard.
