JAY – A Wayne couple was listed in good condition Tuesday at a Lewiston hospital recovering from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on Route 133 at about 6:40 p.m. Saturday.
Driver Stephen McLaughlin, 54, and his wife, Diana McLaughlin, 50, were heading south when a pickup truck in front of them took a left turn onto East Jay Road, police Sgt. Troy Young said.
When Stephen McLaughlin attempted to stop, he lost control and laid down the bike. He and his wife ended up in a ditch on the side of the road, Young said. Stephen McLaughlin is believed to have a couple of broken bones; Diana McLaughlin is believed to have a head laceration and possible internal injuries, Young said. Both were taken to Central Maine Medical Center.
