ORONO – The Maine State Math Meet was held at the Bangor Auditorium on April 7, with 93 participating schools representing all counties in Maine. The top 10 individuals from the regular season, starting in October, were awarded cash prizes and bowls. The top three schools from each class A through D from the regular season were awarded plaques.

This final competition is open to all schools in the state and is the only meet that brings all schools affiliated with the Maine Association of Math Leagues together at one time.

Results are:

Winner, Division A: First place, Bangor High School; second place, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School; third place, MSSM.

Winner, Division B: First place, Cheverus High School; second place, Falmouth High School; third place, Fryeburg Academy.

Winner, Division C: First place, Maine Central Institute; second place, John Bapst High School; third place, Washington Academy.

Winner, Division D: First place, Hebron Academy; second place, Lee Academy; third place, Berwick Academy.

Overall team high scores: First place, Hebron Academy; second place, Bangor High School; third place, Oxford Hills Comprehensive Hgh School.

Top individual scores: Senior, Jimmy Zhou, Messalonskee High School; junior, Andrew Audibert, Bangor High School; sophomore, Jimmy Pershken, Lawrence High School; freshman, Sam Oransky, Kennebunk High School.
