PORTLAND (AP) – A 72-year-old Standish man has pleaded guilty to reckless conduct in the December 2006 death of a teenage pedestrian who was struck by his pickup truck.

Lincoln Turner admitted that he was tired when his vehicle drifted onto the shoulder of Route 25 in Standish, striking Frank Rideout. The victim, also of Standish, was walking with a friend.

The Portland Press Herald said prosecutors dropped a manslaughter charge against Turner, who faces a maximum sentence of five years for reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

Turner remains free on bail while he awaits sentencing on May 22.
