LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, announces expanded hours of operation, the May workshop schedule and the speakers for the Unemployed Professionals Group. All events are free of charge and are held at the CareerCenter.

The new hours are: Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday hours are effective until June 27.

The Unemployed Professions Group meets every Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. Registration is not required. Speakers and topics are:

May 4: “Open Forum; Your Time,” with Cher Tyra.

May 11: “Top 10 Worst Job Tips Ever,” with Melissa Suey.

May 18: “LinkedIn,” with Richard Grant.

May 25: No meeting, Memorial Day.

Computer skills’ building is also available at two community computer labs: B-Street Community Center, Lewiston Adult Education and the Lewiston Public Library. Contact the Lewiston CareerCenter for the computer lab hours of operation.

Industry Information Tuesday will be offered: May 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., metal fabrication; and May 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., green and energy-related jobs.

A higher education adviser will be available May 4 or May 8 or May 22, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration not required.

An adult education adviser will be available May 6 or May 13 or May 20 or May 27, 10:15 to 11 a.m. Registration not required.
