LEWISTON – A Horton Street man was treated for a partially severed ear late Wednesday. Police say he was struck with a hammer by a neighbor.

Police said 49-year-old Kevin Rowe was struck on the left ear, which was ripped by the blow. When officers went to 153 Horton St. at about 10 p.m., they found Rowe dazed and bleeding.

In another apartment on a different floor, police found and arrested 20-year-old Patrick Albert and charged with aggravated assault in the attack.

Police said the two men live in the same building and they know each other, but the nature of their dispute was not known.

Albert was questioned by police, jailed and later released on bail.
