FREEPORT – Trevar Haefele netted seven goals and dished off four assists to lead St. Dom’s to a 15-13 victory over Freeport in boys’ lacrosse action Thursday.

Troy Haefele, Tim Day, Ben Adams and Matt Adams all tallied twice the Saints (2-0). Cody Rodrigue made 14 saves in net to notch the win.

Freeport (0-2) was paced by Jackson Dodge with five goals, while Greg Townsend added three. Tom Dorsey and Greg Ordway each netted two, while a single goal by Josh Sturtevant rounded out the final tally. Alex Sturtevant turned aside 13 shots between the posts.

Girls’ lacrosse

Mountain Valley 12, Camden Hills 6

CAMDEN – Emily Child led a group of four players with multiple goals as Mountain Valley raced to a 12-6 victory over Camden Hills.

Child led the Falcons (2-1) with four goals, while Caitlin O’Connell, Brittany Culombe and Kayla Allen each added two. Single tallies from Shainna Mills and Nicole Lavorgna completed the scoring. Holly Theriault made six saves to notch the win.

Camden Hills (0-3) was paced by Katie McHenry with two goals. Eleanor Coleman, Rachel Grenart, Hillary Gordon and Sarah Leidner also scored. Rebecca Stoutamyer turned aside 13 shots between the posts for Camden Hills.

Softball

Sac. Valley 5, St. Dom’s 2

SOUTH HIRAM – Mary Mayhew tripled and singled as Sacopee Valley shook off St. Dom’s with a 5-2 victory in a softball game Thursday.

Sacopee Valley (1-2) jumped out a 3-0 lead by the fourth inning. The Saints (1-1) scored a run in the fourth and fifth innings. Mariah Maheux singled twice for St. Dom’s.

Buckfield 3, Richmond 1

BUCKFIELD – Alicia Patrie hit a triple, homered in the sixth and drove in three runs, leading Buckfield to a 3-1 victory over Richmond in a Class D softball game Thursday.

The Bucks (1-0) took a 2-1 lead in the third inning, while their pitcher, Brittany Wiley, held off the Bobcats with six strikeouts. Heather Clavet doubled and singled for the Bucks. For Richmond, Eticia Brickman tripled.

Buckfield had eight hits on the day.

Baseball

Richmond 16, Buckfield 4

BUCKFIELD – Peter Bradford smashed a three-run home run in the sixth inning as Richmond pulled away to a 16-4 victory over Buckfield in EWC baseball action Thursday afternoon.

The Bobcats (2-0) built a 7-3 advantage in the first three innings and were never challenged.

Mark Brown led Richmond with four hits and three RBIs, while Jason Woods belted two hits with three RBIs. Woods also struck out seven batters, while earning the mound win.

The Bucks (0-1) were paced by Tony Fortier’s two hits. Isaac Smith allowed eight runs in four innings and was tagged with the loss.
