CENTER HARBOR, N.H. (AP) – Rescue crews have recovered the bodies of two people who vanished after a small boat overturned in New Hampshire’s frigid Lake Winnipesaukee.

The Marine Patrol says it got a call about an overturned boat around 9:30 Saturday morning in Cavaliers Cove in Center Harbor. It says its officers, along with Center Harbor police and firefighters and Fish and Game officers searched for two males believed to have been in the boat.

WMUR-TV reports the two bodies were recovered Saturday afternoon. Investigators tell the TV station the men had been fishing. It does not appear alcohol was involved in the deaths.

Marine Patrol Sgt. Crystal McLain said no one saw the small rowboat-style boat flip over. She said the water temperature was 48 degrees.
