BOSTON (AP) – A “technical error” in Saturday night’s game between the Bulls and the Celtics brought Chicago one point closer – during a timeout.

Boston led 89-83 – at least that’s what the scoreboard read – with 5:44 remaining in the fourth when the public address announcer said that a first-half 3-pointer by Ben Gordon had been incorrectly scored a 2-pointer. One point was added to the Bulls’ score.

Officials can use video replay to check whether a shot is from beyond the arc or not, but it is supposed to come at the first break after the basket.

No further explanation for the play was immediately available.
