TURNER — Leavitt Area High School thespians will be performing William Shakespeare’s play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at 7 p.m., May 8 and 9, at the high school auditorium. Tickets are available at the door and cost $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
The Leavitt production is directed by Kerri Becker — her debut production as director. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a romantic comedy that was written around 1594 to 1596. It portrays the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors, their interactions with the Duke and Duchess of Athens, Theseus and Hippolyta, and with the fairies who inhabit a moonlit forest.
The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works for the stage.
This adaptation for high school casts is by Cass Foster and is produced
by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company.
