YMCA to launch spring Group Power

AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA will launch the latest segment of its program, Group Power, on Wednesday, May 13, with three free classes open to all.

The spring release will feature new music, exercises and programming as the YMCA continues to develop the first nationally certified program in Maine and New Hampshire.

Group Power is a 60-minute program that strengthens major muscles in a group environment with music and nationally certified instructors. With simple movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, Group Power is for all fitness levels.

The YMCA will host three free classes, and participants must register by May 13. The times will be 9: to 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The YMCA offers 12 one-hour Group Power classes each week, along with more than 25 other exercise classes.
