Seniors to meet
BETHEL – The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the Alder River Grange Hall in East Bethel for a dinner and meeting. Price of dinner is $7.
Necrology service
OXFORD – The Oxford County Education Association-Retired will meet Friday, May 15, at the American Legion Hall. The social period will start at 10:30 a.m. and the business meeting at 11.
There will be an afternoon necrology service. The scholarship fundraiser will be a plant sale. All retired teachers and support personnel are welcome. If not on a phone tree, call 743-7677 to reserve a lunch.
Buffet supper
WEST PARIS – A public buffet supper, featuring Finnish and American foods, will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Finnish American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St. It is sponsored by the Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine.
Daughters install
HARRISON – Hannah F. Richardson Test 19, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861 to 1865, met April 22 at the home of President Gail Butterfield.
Installation of officers was held and Butterfield was installed by Past President Wanda Ryerson. Dues were paid and annual reports were made out.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 27, at the K of P Hall in Stoneham. A memorial program will be held Sunday, May 24, after the church service in Stoneham. The state convention will be June 26 in Waterville.
Spring fling
GREENWOOD – A spring fling sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 23, at the Locke Mills Union Church. It is being sponsored by the Ladies Circle.
There will be a few antiques, clothing, knick-knacks and a bake sale. Starting at 11 a.m. some items will be $1 a bag.
