Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen is planning a comeback for the Vancouver Games.

Cohen, speaking from Winnipeg, Canada, where she is touring with Stars on Ice, confirmed Wednesday that she will resume training in hopes of making her third Olympic team. She says she has submitted paperwork to U.S. Figure Skating in hopes of competing at Grand Prix events in the fall.

Cohen hasn’t skated competitively since the 2006 world championships. But don’t count her out. The U.S. women have struggled mightily the last three years.

Cohen’s formal announcement is expected some time next week.
