International folk song swap set for church
LEWISTON — The public is invited to attend an international folk song swap and sing-along at the Trinity Episcopal Church on Friday, May 8, at at 7 p.m.
Songs in Spanish, German, Creole, Indonesian, English, Indonesian and French, with simple choruses that are easy to learn, will be offered with guitar, flute, clarinet, and fiddle.
At least two professional music teachers, and an amateur kids’ and nature folksinger will entertain and encourage audience participation. Finger food desserts and nonalcoholic fruit drinks will be available.
The event will take place in the Jubilee Center, lower level of Trinity Church, at the corner of Spruce and Bates St. Guests are encouraged to bring their drums or other instruments to participate. Please call Nancy Chandler, 933-9370, more information.
Musicians include Nancy Chandler, guitar, Chris Lansley, flute, Rose Pruiksma, clarinet, and fiddle. Guitars, recorders, fiddles, drums and other instruments welcome.
