MEXICO – Gregory M. Waugh, 53, of Carlton Avenue, Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, at the home of his sister, Barbara Laramee, with his loving family at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Rumford, on Dec. 13, 1955, a son of Dorothy I. (Dube) and John Henry Waugh Sr. Greg was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1973. He was employed for 33 years with New Page Paper Mill in Rumford. He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and building and repairing computers.

Surviving are his mother, Dorothy I. Waugh of Mexico; a stepdaughter, Courtney Tibbetts of Mexico; two brothers, John H. Waugh Jr. of Portland and David J. Waugh and wife, Janet, of Deep Gap, N.C.; three sisters, Barbara Laramee of Mexico, and her children, Brian Laramee of Lewiston and Roger Laramee of Mexico, Lorraine Cyr of Rumford and Jackie LaChappelle of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, John H. Waugh Sr.; and a sister, Carol Pratt.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the oncology unit at Rumford Hospital and the staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
