PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The head of a nonprofit that recruits businesses to Maine has made his decision on whether to run for governor.

Matt Jacobson, president and chief executive officer of Maine & Co., is holding a campaign kickoff and fundraising reception Thursday where he plans to make a statement.

Jacobson, a Republican, formed an exploratory committee in February to consider a run for governor in the 2010 election. The 48-year-old Jacobson lives in Cumberland.
