LEWISTON – Maxine E. Crane, 86, died Monday, Jan. 12, at Montello Manor.

She was born in Auburn, June 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Paul) Trask. She graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1940, and had attended her 68th class reunion in May 2008.

She worked in several factories and later became a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rochester, N.H., and the Rochester Women’s Club. She had worked on the messenger church bulletin.

Survivors include her son, Earl G. Crane Jr. of Chesterville; five grandchildren, Scott Crane of Auburn, David Crane of Windham, Lea Crane of Portland, Troy Crane of Auburn and Gary Crane Jr. of Oxford; five great-grandchildren, Logan Crane of Portland, Ashlie Sewell of Auburn, Brian Crane of Auburn, Jack Crane of Oxford and Mabel Crane of Oxford; and one great-great-grandchild, Isaah Sewell of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her husband, Earl G. Crane Sr. in 1986; and her son, Gary E. Crane Sr. in 2002.
