WILTON — Police from several agencies are searching for a man who fled on foot after he refused to submit to arrest early Monday afternoon.

Wilton Police Chief Dennis Brown has requested that students at Cushing School and Academy Hill School in Wilton remain inside as a precautionary measure.

The schools are not locked down, he said.

Officers from Wilton, Franklin County, Jay and the Maine State Police including Trooper Matt Casavant and his dog, Kaiser are searching areas near the Wilton Police Station.
