AUGUSTA – Anita Bergeron Burgess Hall, 83, of Augusta, died Saturday, May 9, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation, Graybirch Drive.

She was born in Lewiston, April 3, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Amanda (LaBrecque) Bergeron. She attended schools in Monmouth and in 1946 married Bernard Burgess in Winthrop. He died in 1971. In 1986, she married Robert Hall in North Monmouth and he died in 1992.

She has lived in Rhode Island, Leeds, East Winthrop, Winthrop, Mount Vernon and Augusta. She worked at BIW and several shoe and clothing factories in Rhode Island, Auburn and Livermore Falls. She then went to work at Heritage Manor in Winthrop as a nurses’ aide and later activities coordinator and did some social work.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and later St. Augustine’s in Augusta. She was a member of the Women’s Group at St. Francis and the Sisters of Isabella at St. Augustine’s. She enjoyed traveling, hand work of all sorts, the outdoors, gardening and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Gordon Bergeron and his companion, Joan Gray, of Monmouth; two grandchildren, William Burgess and his wife, Melissa, of Monmouth and Kara Burgess of South Carolina; her great-grandchildren, Moira, Liam and Maeve Burgess; two foster daughters, Cheryl Bubier and Candy Campbell; a stepdaughter, Michelle Townley; three stepgrandchildren, Shane, Corey and Ryan Townley; her former daughter-in-law, Tobey Burgess; and special friend, Jackie Prince.

She was predeceased by her two husbands; her sisters, Eva Bergeron, Annette Bergeron and Jeanette Doyle; and her brothers, Henry, Joseph and Normand Bergeron.
