LEWISTON – Volunteers at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will hold a benefit car wash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the shelter, 55 Strawberry Ave.

In case of rain, the wash will be rescheduled for Saturday, May 23.

All proceeds will go directly to the homeless, abandoned and abused animals at humane society for their food, shelter, veterinary care and a chance at a new home.

The society provides a haven for more than 5,500 sick, homeless and abused animals a year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fundraising events and donations.
