BOOTHBAY – Samuel Cohen of Farmington won a first place for his “Coins” in the Maine Photography Show at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation Gallery.

There are three awards in each of four categories: color, black and white, computer composed and student (18/under) and there is the Best of Show Award.

Local winners were:

Color category: second, Jane Spencer of Boston, (raised in Topsham) for “Lilypad #2”; third, George Paton of Bowdoinham, “Mum.”

Computer composed: second, Rebecca Kitchen of Durham, “Bell and Bricks.”

Student: first, Cohen of Farmington, “Coins.”

The show includes 115 juried works. It is a state-wide, juried, annual exhibition and is open to the public through May 3, Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission. For more information, visit mainephotographyshow.com.
