OXFORD – Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District offered brook trout in its annual sale to be stocked in private ponds.

Mountain Springs Trout Farm arrived with hundreds of trout to be bagged and filled with oxygen for transportation to ponds all over Oxford County.

As orders were filled, employees from local businesses in the Oxford Plaza and curious onlookers of the community watched the process. The proceeds from the annual sale are used for the district program costs.

Those interested in ordering trout in the fall are encouraged to call Jane Heikkinen at the district office at 743-5789, ext. 101, and leave name, address, phone number and indicate choice of brook or rainbow trout.

Androscoggin Valley SWCD staff is in the Oxford office on most Tuesdays and Fridays.
