AUBURN – Auburn lawyer Gretchen L. Jones was a presenter at the Maine Association of Community Banks 33rd Expo in Portland on April 14.
She spoke to a group of bankers and other professionals on one of today’s hottest topics: Federal Reserve Board Regulations GG, Prohibition on Funding of Unlawful Internet Gambling. Regulation GG became effective as of Jan. 19, with a mandatory compliance date of Dec. 1, 2009.
Jones is a shareholder and director at Skelton Taintor & Abbott, 95 Main St., Auburn. Her practice is focused on representing and counseling financial institutions and other businesses. She has extensive experience in legislative and regulatory advocacy on behalf of clients before the Maine Legislature, members of Congress, federal financial regulators and state agencies.
Her expertise encompasses regulatory compliance; consumer, commercial and municipal finance; charter conversions; and mergers and acquisitions, from planning stages through consummation. She also advises clients as to state and federal trademark and federal copyright matters. She is a graduate of Bowdoin College and the University of Maine School of Law.
