TEHRAN, Iran (AP) – A lawyer says American journalist Roxana Saberi, who was jailed on the charge of spying in Iran, left the country early Friday.

Saberi’s lawyer, Abdolsamad Khorramshahi, says the 32-year-old dual Iranian-American citizen has left Iran for Europe, but he did not which country.

On Thursday, the family said they would leave Iran in next few days but would not welcome media coverage on it.

Saberi was originally convicted of spying in a brief, closed-door trial and sentenced to eight years in prison.

The 32-year-old dual Iranian-American citizen, who spent four months in prison, was freed Monday and reunited with her parents after an appeals court reduced her sentence to a two-year suspended sentence.
