AUBURN – NAPA Auto Parts opened its Auburn Rec Players League softball season Thursday night with a 5-1 win over The Assassins at rain-soaked Pettingill Park.
Kasey Clark went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI’s, a walk and a run scored. Zach Gross was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Anthony Clark went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Clay Phillips also checked in at 2-for-3.
Josh Cobb and Dave Pontbriand each went 1-for-3 with an RBI to assist NAPA, whose pitching shut down a balanced Assassins offense. NAPA’s next game is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at Pettingill.
