AUBURN – Kathleen M. Minnehan, 59, of 207 Allen Pond Road, Greene, died Saturday, May 16, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn, following a year-long battle with cancer.

Born in Lewiston on Nov. 5, 1949, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, class of ’67, and later received her bachelors degree in social work from the University of Maine, Orono. She was employed for 35 years with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and a Social Service Program specialist for the past decade.

While with the state, she was elected by her peers into the role of union president of the Androscoggin chapter of the MSEA. A prolific traveler, she visited Europe, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Czech Republic and many other parts of the world. She enjoyed painting, both oil and watercolor, gardening, collecting comic books, and woodworking.

Survivors include a son, Angus McGill of Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter, Molly McGill and husband, Erik Flanagan, of Greene; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Patrick and Richard Minnehan; and two sisters, Claire L’Italien and Mary Saltis.
