PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) – Kevin Youkilis of the Boston Red Sox was 0 for 2 with a walk Monday night in his first rehab game with Triple-A Pawtucket.

Against former Houston Astros right-hander Fernando Nieve, Youkilis led off the first inning against Buffalo by grounding out to third base on a 2-2 pitch.

Youkilis, who played first base, chased a high pitch in the third and struck out on a 1-2 count. He walked on four pitches in the fifth.

Youkilis, who is hitting .393 with the Red Sox, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 12, retroactive to May 5, with a strained left oblique. He has 11 doubles, six homers and 20 RBIs.
