Memorial parade
WEST PARIS – Ring McKeen American Legion Post 151 will sponsor a Memorial Day parade and service on Monday, May 25. The parade will step off at 11 a.m. from the Finnish-American Heritage Center. Grand marshals will be Bertha DeHaas and Albert Penley Jr.
The parade will march to the bridge for a short remembrance service, then proceed to Wayside Cemetery for a memorial observance. Pastors Lloyd Waterhouse and Bruce Tyner will speak. It will then return to the Veteran’s Monument for a closing ceremony. All are welcome.
Church supper
SUMNER – The Congregational Church of East Sumner will have its First Saturday Supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6. The potluck supper will honor all men. Donations may be made in lieu of a food item. Coffee and punch will be provided.
The new church recipe cook book may be purchased for $10. The second annual Vernon Bradeen hymn sing will follow. For more information, call Cyndy Norton at 388-2667.
Society program
OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the Kay House Museum, Pleasant Street.
Following a short business meeting, the program will be presented by members of the 3rd Maine Civil War Re-enactors. Refreshments will follow.
Bean supper
CASCO – The Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, Route 121, will hold its first Saturday night supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 30, sponsored by the Mission Committee. There will be baked beans, hot dogs, salads, drinks and homemade pies. Cost will be $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
Safety course
PARIS – The South Paris X-tra Mile ATV Club will hold an ATV safety course on Sunday, May 31. It will be a classroom and hands-on class taught by Perry Edwards. There will be a short break for lunch. Preregister by Saturday, May 30, by calling Randy Scott at 527-2065.
Show has spaces
BRIDGTON – There are still a few spaces left for Art in the Park in Shorey Park. It will be the sixth annual show, which is run by Gallery 302 and the Bridgton Art Guild. The juried show, which will be held on Saturday, July 18, (rain date Sunday), will offer prizes in three categories: wall art, photography and fine crafts. Spaces accommodate a 10-foot by 10-foot tent.

Pie sale set
WEST PARIS – The West Paris Universalist Unitarian Church will hold its annual rhubarb pie sale from 9 a.m. to noon or until sold out Saturday, May 30.
This year there will also be white elephant tables. The church is on Main Street in West Paris village and the sales will be held in the handicapped-accessible lower level.
